Sade’s bitch ass daddy had managed to keep me locked up for a week. I didn’t want Sade to come down to the station because I didn’t want her getting into it with her father on my account and I definitely didn’t want her upsetting herself and putting my baby in any stress. I had her handle some shit for me with my lawyer, I told her where to find the money to pay him and had her let LaMar know what was going on. She held it down and stayed cool, despite how emotional she had been lately.

This shit couldn’t be easy for her. To know that your father and your man are at war, and that she was ultimately at the center of it, had to be some taxing shit. But she was holding me down, and I would never forget that.

I was finally going home. And not only was I gonna beat all these bogus as charges, but the police department was about to pay me out the muthafuckin’ ass. My lawyer easily proved that I had been a victim of police brutality and already had a lawsuit in the works on my behalf. I didn’t want to sue that police department, but it was the muthafuckin’ principal at this point. They withheld medical treatment, violated my civil rights and it was quickly proven that the ‘evidence’ they had against me was planted. Not only was Sade’s daddy a dead man walking, but I was about to strip him of what little professional dignity he did have.

“My client had a diamond earring when he came in. Where is the earring. He clearly reported a 3 carat diamond earring on his belonging sheet. You find it or you donut eating lard asses can kiss your measly Christmas bonuses good by this year.” He said. The cop at the desk begrudgingly pulled my earring from the front pocket of her uniform.

“Nice.” He exclaimed. “Officer Simmons, Badge # 2457645 pulled my client’s personal property from her pocket.” He said quickly scribbling the offense on a legal pad that he was documenting everything on. This little balding Jewish duded was a legal beast. He earned every dollar that I paid him and then some.

“Well, I hope that earring was worth losing your job over. Thank you for your service, Officer Simmons.” He said sarcastically.

“Let’s go Q.” I just smiled and waved at the pigs as I walked out of the door to county a free man with all the charges dropped. Sade’s daddy didn’t realize he’s met his match, but him sleeping on me was just fine with me. Shit always worked out in my favor.

I discussed a few more things with my lawyer in the parking lot of county for a few more minutes before parting ways. Just as I was getting in my car, Mr. Mitchell was pulling up in his squad car. I waited for him to pass by me before saluting at him.

“Remember Officer Mitchell,” I said. “We out here now.
